Mission
My Mission
At Nurturing Beginnings, my mission is to empower and uplift mothers. Whether you’re expecting, newly postpartum, or well into your parenting journey, I provide compassionate, culturally informed breastfeeding support rooted in empathy, education, and respect. Having grown up in Tokyo, Japan, I’ve seen firsthand how culture, family, and environment shape our choices.
My commitment to home-based care began during my time in Moshi, Tanzania, where I worked in a small clinic and conducted home visits for families who couldn’t access care due to physical or socioeconomic barriers. It was in those homes that I saw people most clearly, within the context of their lives, their support systems, and their cultural values. That experience continues to shape how I care for others, using a holistic approach that honors the whole person.
Parenthood begins long before birth, and I believe that when mothers are supported early, they grow into confident, resilient caregivers. Through in-home and virtual support, I celebrate every family’s unique needs, offering care that is grounded in your environment, your values, and your goals.
Whether you are navigating uncertainty, seeking guidance, or simply looking for someone to walk alongside you, you are not alone. I am here to help you find your strength, your voice, and your own way forward. To nurture a mother is to nurture a family, a community, and our future.
ABOUT ME
My name is Cassidy (she/her), and I am the founder and owner of Nurturing Beginnings: Breastfeeding Support and Counseling. As a registered nurse and certified breastfeeding counselor, I’ve had the privilege of working with parents and babies across Fairfield County, supporting mothers as they build fulfilling and empowering breastfeeding experiences. I live in Connecticut with my husband and three children.
As your breastfeeding counselor, I am committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where you feel accepted, understood, and empowered. Together, we will explore your unique breastfeeding experience and develop a personalized approach that honors your individual needs, goals, and values.
I believe education is one of the most powerful tools for breastfeeding success. My approach combines evidence-based guidance with compassionate support, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and encouraged throughout your journey. Every breastfeeding experience is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. By taking the time to understand your story, we can create a care plan that truly supports you and your baby, every step of the way.
With my background in public health and nursing, I take a holistic approach to breastfeeding support. By honoring your individual needs, cultural beliefs, and values, I strive to empower you to make informed decisions that feel aligned with your family, your traditions, and your breastfeeding goals. It would be an honor to support you during this season of your parenting journey.
